'Poop' & (K) Pop Lead Netflix; Angel's 'The Last Rodeo' Vies with 'Sinners' & 'Bloodlines' on PVOD
Netflix's "Trainwreck" disaster series keeps providing #1 movie viewing for streamer.
‘Train Wreck: Poop Cruise’ (Netflix)
The Netflix original documentary series plunged to new heights this week. Its latest entry “Poop Cruise” is the first to rank first on their daily U.S. top 10 movie chart after other recent disasters have also sparked interest.
These short (in this case 55 minute) standalone stories specialize in well-known events like the 2013 Carnival Cruise ship where internal systems broke down leading to among other issues non-functioning sewage functioning. It replaced “KPop Demon Hunters,” another Netflix original, from first place, with the animated film #2 otherwise during the week.
VOD charts saw Angel’s “The Last Rodeo” spark top interest among new releases. The faith-based drama is #4 currently on iTunes’ top 10 list (listed by transactions) and #2 for the week at Fandango (ranked by revenue). “Final Destinations: Bloodlines” (WB) took first place at Fandango, while “Sinners” (WB) is #1 today at iTunes. “28 Days Later” at $3.99 to rent actually took first place at iTunes during the week.
